As summer settles in, we hope you’re finding time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the sunshine. Whether you’re traveling, spending time with loved ones, or diving into new projects, we’re thinking of you and wishing you a safe and joyful season.

At Haverhill Public Schools, summer is a time for reflection, planning, and growth. We’re busy behind the scenes preparing for an exciting fall, and we can’t wait to share what’s ahead. Stay tuned for updates, events, and opportunities coming your way soon!

Kindergarten EnrollmentClass of 2038

Do you have a child who will be five (5) years old by August 31? We are requesting all registrations for kindergarten be scheduled by August 1, 2025, allowing us enough time to establish transportation schedules and class lists. Please call our Registration Office at our Family Resource Center at 978-420-1951 if you have any questions. Current Moody Preschool students do NOT need to re-register.  To learn more about the process, please visit our website

Moving? Relocating?

If you are relocating this summer within Haverhill or out of the district, kindly contact our Family Resource Center at (978) 420-1951. Visit their website for more information.

Parent/Student Portal

While school is out, it’s a great opportunity to get familiar with our Parent/Student Portal! Whether you’re checking grades, attendance, schedules, or updating contact information, the portal is your go-to tool for staying connected and informed. For families on the go, SchoolBrains has a great app you can add to your cellphone which includes all the same information at your fingertips. Take a few minutes this summer to log in, explore the features, and ensure your account is up to date—so you’re ready to hit the ground running when school starts!

YouTube

We want to inform our families and staff about how YouTube is used across our district. We know YouTube can be a fantastic resource with great how-to guides, educational content, and sometimes, even some fun “internet wormholes”! However, it also comes with challenges like potential distractions and content that isn’t always suitable for students. A big part of our responsibility is protecting your child’s privacy and ensuring we meet all guidelines, especially FERPA. The challenge with platforms like YouTube is that outside companies manage them, and their privacy policies can change without our control or input. Unfortunately, YouTube’s privacy policy doesn’t fully align with our student information and privacy regulations. Because of this, we will be limiting student access to YouTube on our network, effective on the last day of school. This change will apply not only when students are on our network but also to their student Chromebooks. For more information, visit our website.

Gateway Academy

In a transformative collaboration aimed at addressing the academic and career readiness needs of Haverhill’s most vulnerable youth, Gateway Academy, HP3, and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill joined forces to create a GOAL pilot program (Gateway Occupational and Academic Learning). Designed to re-engage students in grades 9–12 who face academic, social, and behavioral challenges, the GOAL program offers a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and hands-on alternative education experience. Each day, students begin with academic instruction at Gateway Academy, then transition to the Boys & Girls Club for lunch, recreation, and an intensive workforce development component that includes career exploration, financial literacy, site visits, real-world vocational experiences, and professional development. The program supports the whole student by addressing
academic deficits and the social-emotional and practical skills young people need to thrive.
